'' when you walk downstairs it feels like something fun going to happen '' thanks Oli , it can't be said better !. It's a sunny morning , there's not a breath of wind , or ripple on the tidal lake 35 steps from my bedroom ( your bedroom ? ). the ocean is just across the National Park and here in the palms , the privacy and peace is magical . you're protected from hot summer winds and sunset evenings dining out , sharing the ambience, go..on and on .....

So, ''Welcome to South Seas!.'' ...newly reno'd , fairly priced and listed for the first time.. ..Your private downstairs retreat is as per photos and description..There's one large Bedroom with quality linen and towels ,an equally large Bathroom [ HUGE mirror for admiring yourself !..] shower , bath, washing machine / dryer and a well appointed Kitchen / Lounge, with Cable TV and Wi Fi ..Looking west , there's not a house, road, telegraph pole in sight for 20 miles. One of the outstanding features of this house and location is that you're not ''near'' , or '' 5 mins walk'' from the water, you're ON the water and will be delighted watching it change , hour by hour...Dolphins cruise by whenever it suits them, and on a still night , you'll hear mullet '' plopping''....... The colors , palms and building are inspired by houses i've shared and admired around the surfing world..open to and in '' touch '' with their environments..lots of glass..whether built out of rough coral blocks in Barbados [ driftwood and a old water tank at your beach !.] or local timbers in Indo, The Seychelles and Samoa..all share that special proximity to sound and '' moods'' of the water.... As you'll see, Wooloweyah Village is a wonderful discovery in the Yamba lifestyle and holiday experience..2 mins by car across heathland in Yuraygir National Park to beaches at Green Point, Spooky and Angourie and 5 mins from the well documented activities in ''town ''.....there's no traffic noise.."millions"of birds!..locals are friendly and you can stroll the foreshore and streets in quiet , relaxed , safety.... P.S...''our'' Butcher Birds will sing and wait patiently on the wall outside the kitchen door for you to cut up '' beak sized'' squares of cheese. As you're undoubtedly aware, Butcher Birds have quite sophisticated tastes...they'll gobble your basic sandwich slices rather than starve but Extra Sharp Cracker Barrel is their favourite !...If they haven't died of heart attack , or stroke, i'm sure they'll become your friends too !... and Fishing ??...'' they'' say, you'll catch a flathead along the foreshore if you use a lure but i dunno....fish can be tricky !.. A wealth of International travellers have contributed to the global character and romantic ambience of this house...If South Seas! sounds and looks like your kind of place, we already know each other, so thank you for staying with us !..i hope you catch the full moon...

South Seas! is on Lake Wooloweyah .. a 10 x 2 kilometre salt water tidal lake connected by mangrove channels to the Mighty Clarence River . It's surrounded by and within sound of the ocean beaches and is its own playground set in Yuraygir National Park.. It's close to everything that brings holiday makers to Yamba and as you'll see , is a calm escape from '' holiday season'' when you're ready to hit the hammock for time out !...

  • Great quiet location on the lake. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

  • A great place to relax! Lovely view. Highly recommended!

  • What a gorgeous place!!! We felt like we were holidaying inside a Gaugin painting. Truly a unique experience and one we hope to repeat in the not too distant future. From the start, bright colours awaited us around each corner leading us in to a comfy well appointed haven loaded with interesting artwork, books and surf culture memorabilia. We were in for a spectacular treat with a stunningly magical sunset on the water . Is this heaven?... Quite possibly!!! Grant was extremely kind and hospitable and although Tony was away we feel we got to know him a little through his version of “South Seas”. Highly recommended!!

  • Great spacious place on the lake, cool interior decor, nice quiet location 10mins from town, close to Angourie. Grant was very nice host, would defently stay there again.

  • This place has a beautiful view with the most amazing decor we have ever seen. It is so quiet and relaxing and you will really enjoy yourselves if you stay here.

  • I didnt want to leave! I literally felt that my breath was taken away walking down to see the sunset over the lake. It was absolutely stunning. I felt like I was somewhere far far away. There were so many beautiful birds around me and I felt so overwhelmed with the beauty. The hammock was such a great touch and I was so relaxed having my cheese and wine outside just watching the changing sunset. The space is very unique and funky and I just felt very at home there. As I said I didn't want to leave! Fantastic hospitality from Grant who delivered a coffee Saturday morning and wasn't too far away for anything. Two nights was simply not enough and I will be back!! Thank you xx

  • We had a lovely time at Wooloweyeh. The location by the lake is serene. Grant was really welcoming and attentive too. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway

  • We had an amazing stay at the rainbow house. Beautiful setting and quiet within close proximity to the surrounding beaches and cafes. We just wish we could have stayed longer! We will definitely be back :)
